It’s little wonder Orlando Sentinel film critic Roger Moore is syndicated across the country.

The Fla.-based scribe writes spot-on reviews and constantly updates his movie blog with juicy news bites and commentary.

But this particular passage from his “Letters to Juliet” review stopped me cold. Here’s a critic who really knows acting – and can celebrate it in plainspoken fashion:

But [Vanessa] Redgrave, the Oscar-winning pro, keeps trying to show [co-star Amanda Seyfried] how it’s done. Give the camera something to look at every time it’s on you — an expression, some little bit of business. When her character, Claire, folds Sophie (Seyfried) in a motherly embrace, Redgrave twirls Seyfried’s hair as if she were forgetting herself and thinking this was her own daughter.

Suffice to say some movie critics and industry reporters don’t make stellar film bloggers.

For reasons of courtesy I’m not going to name names, but you know who you are.

That’s why Roger Moore’s film blog is such a treat. The Orlando Sentinel critic with the Bondian name serves up a near constant flow of movie-related posts that expand on what you find in your local paper.

It’s precisely the approach I’m trying to take with WWTW, so allow me to toast Moore for doing it so well.
